Are there any discounts available?

If you want to use the service in more than one site, or if you are interested in taking an extended contract, get in touch and we’ll tell you about the discounts that are available.

Will I be charged to use the trial?

No: our software is always free to download and the music is completely free for the 30 days of the trial.  There are no hidden charges.

When will I be charged?

Your trial will automatically roll into the first month of full service if you don’t cancel before the end of the trial.  At that point your card will be charged for the first month.

How do I cancel if I don’t want to continue?

Just drop us an email to tell us that you would like your service to stop, and we will reply to confirm receipt (please look out for this so that you know we have seen your email, and give us a call if it doesn’t arrive).  If you have paid for the service then you can obviously continue using the player until the end of your paid period.  We would always appreciate some feedback on why you feel the service isn’t right for your business; you may find we offer additional services that would be more suitable, so do give us a call to discuss what options are available to you.

Will I be tied into a long contract with a cancellation fee?

By default you only pay for a month at a time, and can cancel at any time before the next payment is taken.  We do offer discounted rates for longer contracts so some clients will choose to sign up for longer periods, but this would only happen if you call us to ask for an extended plan.

What do i need to run MARZIPAN MUSIC ?

You will need an Internet-connected device running Windows or Android, plus an amplifier and speakers.  The device can be a PC, a laptop, a tablet, a Media Box, an EPOS system or even a phone; as long as it has the ability to install the software and enough storage space for the music – as a guide, a track is around 3-4MB, so 1000 tracks requires around 4GB of free storage space.  The Internet connection is required during the initial setup but does not need to be present at all times and we have some clients who only connect their device to the Internet once a month to collect their music updates.

How much does it cost?

The first 30 days are completely free.  Should you choose to continue, you will be charged on a monthly basis, with the cost depending on the package selected.  You will find details on our pricing page.  There are no hidden charges; any extras (such as bespoke profiling services) are only added if you choose to add them.

What support is available?

Our client helpline is manned by customer care/studio staff from 9am-9pm (GMT), 7 days, and their troubleshooting can solve most client issues.  In addition to this, we have a network of engineers who can carry out installations and equipment maintenance.

What music will I get?

The music will be selected to fit the clientele of your particular business, whether that is current chart-style pop, classical, jazz, RnB, Latin, rock, or something more specialist, such as childrens’, Hallowe’en-themed, Irish music for St Patrick’s Day, Chinese, Indian, African or some other area of the world.

Who chooses my music?

This is entirely your decision!  Our packages include a primary profile consultation with a member of our studio team, and the initial setting up of your profile (if you take a trial this would usually be done during the trial period).  After that, the base level service allows you to either use the standard playlists that are automatically maintained by our studio team for groups of our clients, or to build your own bespoke playlists.  If you need bespoke profiling but don’t want to handle this yourself, then our studio team can build bespoke playlists on a regular basis for an additional charge.

How do I add adverts or messages?

Adding adverts and messages is extremely simple.  If you are going to be changing your messages regularly then we can give you a portal through which you can upload your own recordings.  If you’re only likely to change them occasionally, they can be emailed to us and we’ll load them onto your account.  Alternatively, we can produce the recordings for you, either from your script or including script-writing.  We can programme the messages into your profile or you can do this by going to the profile editor and selecting them in the adverts or messages sections.

How do i install MARZIPAN MUSIC?

Once you have signed up for the service, go onto the device that you will be using to play the music.  For Windows users, go to marzipanmedia.com and login using the details given in your welcome email.  On the welcome page, click ‘Download Player’ and run the installer.  Android users can find the app in the Android Playstore and just click the ‘Install’ button.  Simple!

Is it legal?

All our services are 100% legal for business use and with our licence-free music, all royalty charges are included in the cost of the music, so that no additional licences are required.  However, users of the mainstream music do require performance licences in addition to the licenses that we hold to enable us to supply you.  In the UK your licences need to come from PRS and PPL, but each country has its own licensing bodies.

What is MARZIPAN MUSIC?

Marzipan Music is a music and audio advertising service for businesses.  Through an online portal it gives business owners and managers the ability to take control of the ‘soundscape’ of their business, tailoring the music to the customers of their particular venue and adding advertising messages if that is appropriate.  Clients can control what type of music will play at what time of day, pre-scheduling the music (and adverts) to change as the clientele of the business changes.  The on-site player can be password-protected to prevent tampering by staff, yet can still give them the option to change the mood of the playlist, if that is something you want to give them.

Can I manage music and video on the same login?

Yes, one login can give you access to multiple accounts, whether that is multiple systems used in one site (e.g. one music and one video, or three accounts for different areas of a venue), or multiple venues.

What support is available?

Where do I get my content?

Our music video catalogue is regularly updated with all the latest chart releases and these are available to any music video client.  For screen media content, you can prepare basic slides on your own PC, ask an advertising agency to produce content for you, or have us produce content on your behalf.  Charges for advert production are agreed on an individual basis once we have an understanding of what sort of content you require.

How do I add my own advertising content?

Adding screen media content is extremely simple.  If you are going to be changing your content regularly then we can give you a portal through which you can upload your content directly.  If you’re only likely to change your visuals occasionally, they can be emailed to us and we’ll load them onto your account.  Once the content is uploaded, you can programme it into your profile by going into the profile editor and selecting the items you require in the adverts or messages sections.  Alternatively, we can do this for you, if you don’t want to do it yourself.

You will need an Internet-connected device running Windows or Android, plus at least one screen; this can be a monitor or TV depending on the needs and budget of the business.  If your content has an audio track (e.g. music videos) that you want to be heard then you would also need an amplifier and speakers.  We recommend that the device used to run the player should be a PC, a laptop, a tablet or a Media Box but any Windows or Android system should be fine, as long as it has the ability to install the software and enough storage space for the content you want to play – as a guide, an average music video takes between 40 and 90MB so a system with 300 videos would need up to around 30GB of available storage space.  File size of screen advertising content varies massively depending on the type of content, definition etc.  The Internet connection is required during the initial setup but does not need to be present at all times and we have some clients who only connect their device to the Internet once a month to collect any content updates.
